This is an image I used in my large format portfolio.  The location is an old finishing company located in Spencer, NC along the Yadkin River.

This image was captured with a Sinar F1 using a 210 mm lens.

Cabbage

I saw his cabbage in the grocery store and fell in love with the texture.  I bought it and decided to photograph it for my Object Lighting Portfolio.

Mmmm... Vermont

We visited the peak separation in the Appalachian Mountains known as the "App Gap" located in central Vermont in October of 2009.

Jessica is a friend of mine who was married in July of 2010 in Mexico.  She was so nice to get all dressed up again to help me with a portrait assignment I had for Biocommunications Portrait class.

Object Lighting Portfolio

For our Object Lighting Portfolio we are required to have a photograph of glass.  I wanted some color, so I decided to add a simple flower arrangement.

The Angel Oak

Jason and I visited the Angel Oak again this past weekend for the fourth time.  Unfortunately we found out we would not be able to get married here next November, not because they do not allow it but because the City of Charleston has very strict regulations on the property.

The images were captured with a Canon 5D Mark II and Canon 24-105 IS lens.

Panoramic

I chose to got to the Salisbury Depot to shoot for my panoramic assignment that was given to us by our digital imaging instructor John Rash http://rashphoto.blogspot.com/.  When I began shooting the engine was not there, so  when he pulled up I was so mad I thought he had ruined my shot.  I could not have been more wrong.  Simply click on the image for a larger view.

The 37 images it took to make the final panoramic photograph possible were captured with a Nikon D300 and a Nikkor 50 mm lens.

Bojangles on Innes

Argon is a safe, odorless, non-toxic gas which is 40% denser than air, significantly slowing down the transference of heat and cold from pane to pane.  The images shown are examples of when the Argon begins to seep out from between the glass panes and other elements such as water and air begin to seep in.  I photographed these at Bojangles located on Innes Street in Salisbury, NC before Jason and I headed off for Hanging Rock State Park.

This Old House

Since I started school at Randolph Community College I have been driving down Hwy 49 admiring this old house.  One Friday afternoon I decided to stop and photograph it.  I can not help but wonder the story behind the house and the family that once inhabited it.

Ginkgo #2

The pharmaceutical assignment required that we have two different photographs of the same pharmaceutical or herbal remedy.  This was the second photograph I took of Ginkgo Biloba, I wanted it to have a more natural feel.

Autumn

This photograph was taken at Dan Nicholas Park in Rowan County, N.C. on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in October.  Autumn colors are so amazing I hate to see the leaves begin to fall.

Ginkgo

For our object lighting class we were given the assignment to photograph a pharmaceutical drug or herbal remedy and I chose Ginkgo Biloba.  Ginkgo is known for its ability to enhance memory, concentration and blood circulation.

This image was captured with a Nikon D300 and Nikkor 18-70 mm lens at a focal length of 60 mm. 

Self Portrait

I have to say it was quite a challenge photographing myself.  I tried it for a while with the self timer set for 20 seconds but that just did not work.  Jason stepped in and pushed the shutter release for me so now he thinks he's a photographer, bless his heart.

I photographed this with a Nikon D300 and Nikkor 18-70 mm lens.  The light source was a single Alien Bee at a slight angle however mostly bounced off of a white ceiling

Claudiah

Claudiah is a energetic young lady who loves her picture taken and just so happens to be my cousin.  We planned this photo shoot so she could send some pictures to her Granny who lives in Texas.

I photographed her in front of a window that had a large scrim placed in front of it.  I used a Nikon D300 and a 17-35mm 2.8 Nikkor lens.

I photographed this with a Mamiya 645 and a 90mm lens, also I used T-Max 100 black & white film.
